finally finished the quilt that i started for my mom more than two years ago. my modern day self finds it a little busy but when cohen called it the labyrinth quilt i couldn't help but like it, and my mom loves it. it was my last unfinished project in my box

we spent all day today playing with ada's party favour glasses. i know she looks miserable, but i prefer to think of it as a dry sense of humour (no one does deadpan quite like ada), it is a nice yin to cohen's all over the place crazy goofy yang.

two special occasions in one day/ ada's third birthday and the blog's one hundredth post! here she is on her new bike with her homemade birthday skirt and just the string of her red balloon, because red is best.

ninety-nine

4 months and holding his head up high. he is still a peanut on the growth chart but what he lacks in weight he makes up for with smiles, so many many smiles.

i made the mistake of showing silvija (my mother in law) all of the half finished sewing projects i store in my project room, and she is now pushing me hard to get them finished. as a result, this is where you will most likely find me when the late afternoon sun hits my window (and often late into the night as well) one last project and then they are all done and it will be time to start some new ones.

a blanket over our patio table became a secret hideout where all of ada's dolls and several of cohen's trains hung out. here they are telling me that, "no adults are allowed!"

ada, max, and i went to meet the newest member of our extended family, elijah. try as we might we couldn't get him to wake up and show us his eyes! in this photo he is only two weeks old and our little maxi is just shy of four months, and yet elijah almost looks bigger? crazy.
